It's true - a friend of mine is in the process of doing it right now and it's pretty exciting. It's a really fantastic way to kickstart a first draft. Sure is self-discipline marathon :)
I first heard of NaNoWriMo two years ago. And, actually, Happycrow's sorta-maybe-novel began (if I'm not mistaken) as an unofficial NaNoWriMo thing last year, even if he started too late and didn't make the 50,000 word at the end of that November.

lol. That sounds like something my friend's toddler would be saying as she speedily clambers up our new stairs!
I have to say "bravo" to anyone who attempts such a feat. My brain melts just thinking about trying to write a novel in 30 days....wow!!

Wow, good luck to your friend. That is an incredible feat akin to, in my mind, running a marathon.
Just wanted to post a Happy Thanksgiving before we all scatter for the holidays. If you are travelling, be safe.
Good luck with your studies.
Thanks coffespaz! I hope you had a lovely and restful Thanksgiving!
We did, thank you. Hope yours was restful as well, and that you were able to take a break. :-)
